What's Hot

To commemorate the seventh South African General Elections, S3 is pleased to announce the launch of The Big Debate on Thursdays at 18:00, from 9 May 2024.

This is a special 15th season of The Big Debate, a major South African town hall debate show coinciding with the upcoming national elections. The show aims to give South Africans a platform to discuss their experiences of democracy over the past 30 years and seek solutions and accountability from leaders. The show hopes to give all South Africans a voice in shaping the country’s future by covering topics like race, leadership, equality, the environment, and the energy crisis.

The host Thembekile Mrototo will lead the conversations with politicians, government ministers, activists and experts. Over 13 episodes, the show will focus on topics like meeting socioeconomic rights for marginalized citizens, election debates between major parties, and a youth leadership workshop with an under 30 audience. The first episode will examine how representative the story of Tintswalo is of meeting people’s basic needs and what it will take to extend constitutional rights to health, education and housing to more South Africans.

Don’t miss The Big Debate every Thursday at 18:00. Starting 9 May 2024, on S3, simulcast on SABC News channel 404 and SABC+.
