I love Grace Jones

You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending, “CS Lewis, Everyday power”.

The years I spent at the University of Johannesburg, formerly known as the Rand Afrikaans Universiteit (RAU), exposed me to a different yet exciting world, one that allowed me to discover and fully express myself, a world where fear had no root and no flower of fear would ever grow.

On campus, I was constantly surrounded by creatives, free-spirited people, artists, fashionistas, and models, and as a result, I became interested in fashion, beauty, art, and lifestyle. This appeared timeless to me, and I was not mistaken.

My passions influenced my decision to launch iStyleBlaq. My original goal was to recognize black women and men who have made a name for themselves in the fashion and beauty industries. However, after realizing that fashion affects everyone who puts on a garment before leaving their homes, I broadened my mission.

The platform’s mission, I’ve decided, will be to celebrate and promote black excellence in all fields. My black excellence platform adheres to the definition of Black Success, which is “someone who is black and possesses outstanding qualities and abilities that make the black community proud.”

On that note, allow me to take you on a journey of excellence, learning, and upliftment for our community. A journey that represents excellence because you are exceptional.
