The fourth edition of Cotton Fest Joburg returns this February. The popular music festival synonymous with young culture presents the UFC Sports Club with a new look and an expansion of the theme of the University of Cotton Fest. As an extension of the music festival, this year the brand includes additional elements such as the Open Mic Contest, Friends Day, the Creative Program and various campus activations throughout the year. Cotton Fest will bring the heat into play this year.
The Open Mic Competition, launched last week on social media with the Cotton Feast team, opened up the playing fields by giving young unknown talent a chance to perform at the festival.
From the over 500 entries received, the top 10 finalists will be selected to perform in front of a live judging panel at the AMPD studio at a closed event.
The top 3 artists/DJs selected will perform at the Cotton Fest. After a successful Friends Day in Cape Town, the Jozi edition will take place on Saturday 28th January 2023 at Newtown Junction, 100 Carr Street, Newtown. This fun warm-up event features lifestyle activities like basketball, skateboarding, and of course, live music. As the countdown to next month’s Cotton Fest Joburg begins, secure your tickets now.
