Last year I had an amazing time at Grade Town’s youth day event. Building on the success of its inaugural edition, Grade Africa, renowned for its fashion influence and commitment to urban culture, proudly announced the return of GradeTown – Johannesburg’s premier youth day celebration that aims to showcase South African youth talents, forge connections and celebrate their diversity.

The event is happening on June 16th, 2024 at the Mall of Africa in Midrand. They’ve got some cool stuff planned like live music from South African artists, esports tournaments, interesting panels, and food trucks. Should be a fun time!

This year also promises exciting activities like live performances from hot talents in the country. Artists performing include Young Stubna, Ziggy4x, Loatinover pounds, Don Delicious, Babywhitz, RoxpaperszScissors and Chrizz Beatz. Radio presenter Hype will host.

Zaid Osman, frontman of Grade Africa, emphasizes the event’s commitment to providing a safe and inclusive space for young people to express themselves and celebrate their diversity. “GradeTown is a testament to the resilience, creativity, and power of South African youth,” says Osman. “Our aim is to shine a spotlight on the often-overlooked young creatives and offer an unforgettable experience that fosters connections and empowerment.”

Early bird tickets cost R150 and are available online and at Pick n Pay stores.
